Yoga For Children:

Practice

Yoga practice teaches us to feel deeply and then release what does not serve us. To be able to share that virtually, or in person with students, and give them tools to help them focus.

Discipline

Yoga is a discipline that leads toward a calm and balanced mind, and teaches self control. Sessions will focus on awareness of the breath and how it moves within the body.

Focus

Recent research has shown that yoga can improve focus, memory, self-esteem, academic performance, and classroom behavior, and can even reduce anxiety and stress in children.

About Laura

Laura is a 200 hour CYT. She is a former elementary school teacher and holds a B.A. in Biology from CSULB and a Master in Education from Concordia University, Irvine. While still in the classroom, Laura became a certified kids yoga instructor. Incorporating breath to movement with elementary students led her to pursue a trauma informed yoga teacher training. After leaving the classroom, Laura began teaching Kids Yoga in studios, at schools, and on zoom. This led to becoming a full time yoga teacher. Laura believes that yoga is for all people and all ages and classes focus on functional and safe movement while also connecting to breath, to body, and to spirit.
